Meeting Minutes for August 14, 2011

10:30 am in Sebastopol, Coffee Cats Café

Present: Bill Deaux (Pres.), Bruce (Thermal) Willey (Treas.), Oberon Zell (OZ) (Sec’y), Helen/Hawk, Lilith Berkana De'Anu. Guest: Susan Small, new Events Coordinator.

Bill opens meeting at 10:40 with grounding. 

Old Business: 

• • No meeting held in July, as there were not enough BoD members to have a quorum.

• • June Action items: 
• o Bruce will contact LBAG ASAP to work out how to get payment to them.
• o Bruce will pay PO box rent ASAP.
• o Bruce will ask BoE to credit our account $12.20 for next year.
• o OZ will go into Exchange Bank and add his name to SCPN account as signatory.

• • All June action items done except OZ going to bank to add signature to account.
• • Bruce got better deal on projector for Jo Carson’s “Dancing With Gaia” film. Ended up paying only $60 to Sebastopol Rental.

MOTION: Bruce moves to accept Treasurer’s Report; Lilith 2^nd. Passed

• • Donations: Bruce reports that donations have declined by around $200/year over the past two years.

MOTION: Bill moves to create wish list for donations (items wanted, costs, etc.) Lilith to coordinate; Bruce 2^nd. Passed.

• • Litha Campout (Bruce): Bruce bought 2 campsites for 2012 Litha campout. Put $137 on credit.

MOTION: Bruce moves to approve reimbursement of $137; Lilith 2^nd. Passed

• • Website (Bruce): We have secured the following domain names: SCPagans.net; SCPagans.org; SCPagans.com. Host: GKG

SCPN Facebook page…Lilith & Helen will conspire to develop.

• • Advertising (Bruce): Gender & Paganism Conference 9/24/11 in San Francisco: 

The 1st Conference on Earth-Based, Nature-Centered, Polytheistic & Indigenous Faiths
Presented by the Pagan Alliance. 2011 Theme: Gender & Earth-Based Spiritualities
MOTION: Bruce moves to purchase ½-page ad in program book; cost $55; Lilith 2^nd. Passed. 

Deadline Tues. 8/16; Bruce will compose text, Lilith will do layout. Should list Upcoming Events large, Mission Statement smaller.

MOTION: OZ moves to moves to run ongoing item on SCPN and coming events on religious page listings in Press Democrat and other local papers; Lilith 2^nd. Passed. (As new Events Coordinator, Susan will pursue this.)

• • Introduction: Susan Small, applying for volunteer position as new SCPN Events Coordinator to replace Lilith. Should be on BoD (elections in October). She has Parkinson’s disease, so is retired from regular work. Raised Jewish, lives in Petaluma, has two teenaged kids. Skills: administrative/executive assistant; office manager/BoD Manager for Pacific Stock Exchange (26 members): handled venture capital, investments, HR, procurement, advertising, web domain management, calendars, expenses, reimbursements, event planning, booking venues & speakers. She was brought into the Pagan community (North Bay Reclaiming) by her teenage daughter, Morgan. Contact: (415) 847-0947 (cell); susan01small@gmail.com

OZ recommends she attend Pantheacon next Feb.

MOTION: Bruce moves to accept Susan as our new SCPN Events Coordinator; Lilith 2^nd. Passed.

September 16: “Gwion & Pagan Sounds” 

October 15: Samhain at Witches’ Ball party, not meeting—need someone to do ritual!

October 21: Divination Night; also BoD Election! (All present BoD members asked to write up: “Why we love being on the SCPN BoD!”)

November 18: Voices of Roma

December 16: Yule (who will do ritual?)

Meeting adjourned 12:05 pm.

SUMMARY OF ACTIONS:

• • OZ will go into Exchange Bank at Mendocino and Steele Lane ASAP and add his name to SCPN account as signatory.
• • Lilith will coordinate creating wish list for donations (items wanted, costs, etc.).
• • Lilith & Helen will develop SCPN Facebook page.
